    The “Seat” Appointment

Your first visit involves preparing your teeth for the veneers. We’ll make room on your teeth by removing some enamel (about the thickness of a fingernail). We’ll then take an impression of your smile, sending it to our local dental lab to custom fabricate your veneers.

Before your veneers are made, we create a blueprint for your perfect smile based on your specific facial structure, smile, and mouth. This blueprint is then used to create the size and shape of your veneers.

We prepare your teeth to accommodate the veneers by gently contouring your teeth. We etch the surface enamel to prepare your treated teeth for both the temporary and final veneers. The temporaries are then fitted over your teeth and worn for 2 to 3 weeks to determine if we need to make any cosmetic or functional changes. During this time your permanent veneers will be custom crafted to create your perfect smile.

Once the permanent veneers have been crafted, we remove the temporaries and carefully fit the permanent veneers to your teeth, ensuring that all are shaped and aligned to your liking. We then bond the veneers to your teeth with a special ligh

Veneers Vs.
Bonding & Crowns

Bonding

Bonding is general a non-invasive procedure.

Bonding can be a quick fix cosmetic upgrade, however it typically doesn't last as long as veneers.

Veneers

Veneers are much stronger than bonding. While they do have a risk of chipping or breaking, the risk is much lower than the risk associated with bonding.

Moreover, because veneers are stronger, they can last for much longer. They are also more stable than bonding.

Crowns

Crowns are used to deal with more significant damage.

Crowns require the removal of a larger amount of your tooth enamel because they cover the entire tooth rather than just the front surface.

Are veneers right for me?

If your teeth, and your smile, are suffering due to minor imperfections, you may be wondering what the best solution is for you. We can help. Before choosing your cosmetic solution, we first examine your mouth and discuss your goals. We will also talk about your lifestyle factors, such as if you grind your teeth, or if you smoke or drink.

Veneers are much stronger than composite bonding. The porcelain material is also stain-resistant. While the treatment costs more than bonding, veneers provide a stronger, longer lasting cosmetic solution.

How do you take care of veneers?

Once you have the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted, it’s important to care for it. Taking care of your veneers is not unlike what you’ve always done to ensure dental health. Practicing proper oral hygiene, which includes brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day, is a great foundation for oral health and the longevity of your veneers. Consider using a soft toothbrush and toothpaste that is free from harsh abrasives to ensure the veneers polish remains intact.

You can avoid chipping or damaging your veneers by not putting any undue pressure on them. Do not chew on objects like ice, fingernails, or pens. Also avoid grinding or clenching your teeth. Lastly, although veneers are stain resistant, the adhesive cement is not. You’ll want to avoid drinks and food that stain teeth. And if you smoke, keeping your veneers pearly white will give you another reason to quit.

Does getting veneers hurt?

Getting permanent porcelain veneers to create your perfect smile is a process. From your initial consultation to the placing of your permanent veneers, each step is a bit different. We are dedicated to making sure you approach each step with confidence and comfort.

You should feel little to no pain when getting veneers. The most uncomfortable moments occur when the teeth need to be shaped or etched to accommodate the veneers. Numbing is an option. And of course, the soreness after the permanent veneers are put in place depends on how extensive the work. Any discomfort is usually very mild and relieved with OTC medication.
